00:01There's another pattern that's been emerging in the last year at Esri.

00:04We call it managed services.

00:06And several hundred organizations, big ones like USDA and British Petroleum and others...

00:12...have engaged us to stand up their services in the cloud, taking responsibility for doing it for them or with them.

00:21These are services like map and application hosting, caching, taking large volumes of imagery and processing it...

00:28...so that it can be stood up in the cloud, and taking on some responsibility for management and monitoring of their work.

00:36This is kind of providing back-office system management for those organizations.

00:40It's been very successful.

00:42We started it as more of an experiment.

00:44I wasn't really frankly sure that this would work, but I think it, I want to share one thing with you...

00:51...and that is this cloud pattern seems to do everything that people said, saves money, it reduces the infrastructure...

01:01...problems and costs and time, increases reliability, and our partners, our cloud partners, Microsoft and Amazon...

01:09...are really standing up powerful infrastructure that's cheap and accessible and reliable.

01:15That sort of sounds like a sales pitch on this for a cloud, but I really actually, I'm moving my own stuff in the cloud.

01:22It's very exciting indeed.

01:25Not for everybody, but certainly the cloud pattern is going to be one that's in many of our futures.
