00:26Fort Hill Natural Gas Authority is in existence for one purpose and that is to provide natural gas to the upstate of South Carolina.

00:35We have over 40,000 residential customers. We have a large industrial base as well.

00:43One of the most positive occurrences at our company here has been the implementation of ArcGIS for lots of reasons. We built it to do more with the same staff that we have.

00:57The ability to capture data for regulatory reasons. The ability to more quickly respond to our customer's needs and all of those things we've been able to accomplish as a result of the implementation of our ArcGIS system, the use of mapping.

01:17It's become a valuable tool for all employees. Not just management, myself, the GIS department as a whole. Every department at Fort Hill Natural Gas is using GIS mapping.

01:28Having everybody looking at one platform has been a big help. When the leak surveyors go out and they mark a leak, our construction crews can pull that leak point up before they ever leave…

01:40…and they can see what grade it is, pictures associated with it, just numerous other things. So it has improved our workflow in that aspect.

01:50When there is an emergency, I can click on some valves and then in just a minute I can see what's going on, besides the base knowledge that we all have, I can pull that up and it helps fortify what I think I might know, but it gives me that visual.

02:07We've got information at our fingertips now. We know where our valves are readily. We know where these service lines are. Collection in the field becomes a real-time edit to the map, which is very powerful, because then, if we need other staff to respond to any situation, the information is already there.

02:23We've probably been on Esri system now, three or four years and it's hard to look back. It really is.

02:31It is exciting to see what we're able to accomplish and to present to our staff in the field, so we're very excited about the future and where we're headed with this.
